New Parishioners are welcome to register at their earliest convenience by completing a form at the Parish Office (Rectory).

Baptisms

The sacrament of Baptism is celebrated most Sundays at 1:30 PM (previous appointment is necessary). Prior attendance at a Baptismal Seminar is required. Phone the Parish Office for pre-registration.

Marriage

Registered parishioner(s) preparing for marriage should contact the parish office at least one year in advance of the proposed marriage date. A newly-revised policy for Marriage Preparation in our diocese and in all the (arch)dioceses of New Jersey took effect on September 1, 2003. A provision of this policy should be especially noted for those contemplating marriage: "...the preparation process begins not less than one year before the desired wedding date." Also, no wedding date may even tentatively be reserved until the engaged couple meets with the parish priest/deacon. (At this introductory meeting the couples� "freedom to marry" is verified.)

You are required to attend both a & b or select c only:

a) Marriage Preparation Session(s) and

b) "God's Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage" Session OR

c) Engaged Encounter Weekend

Eucharist For the Sick / Homebound

If you desire the Eucharist to be brought to a sick or homebound person please phone the parish office (548 - 0100).

Religious Education Classes

Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday during the hours 4:00 - 5:05 PM.  For those in the 8th grade, classes are held on Tuesday evening 7:00 - 8:05 PM (8th grade).

R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

The R.C.I.A program is for those who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith or wish to be received into the Catholic Church.

Sponsorship

Active practice of the faith, together with registration, are necessary for sponsorship certificates and, possibly, the administration of some sacraments.

Garden State Pkwy South to Exit 131.
At end of exit ramp bear right to Metuchen (Rt. 27 South). 
At fifth light make right turn onto Main Street. (at the Getty Station).
The Cathedral is on the second block on your right.

From Points South

Garden State Pkwy North to Exit 131 (see above).

From Route 287 North

Rt. 287 North to Rt. 1 South exit. 
Remain in the far right lane and take Metuchen exit
     - you are now traveling north on Main Street. 
Proceed through three lights.
The Cathedral is on the second block on your right.

From Route 287 South

Rt. 287 South to Metuchen-New Durham Road exit. 
At traffic light make left turn onto New Durham Rd. 
Continue on New Durham Rd. until road turns to the left,
    follow the bend (you will now be on Middlesex Ave.)
At third traffic light make left turn onto Main St. (at the Getty Station). 
The Cathedral is on the second block on your right.

From NJ Turnpike (North or South)

Turnpike to Exit 10. 
Follow signs to 287 North (see above).

From New York

George Washington Bridge, Lincoln or Holland Tunnels - to NJ Turnpike Exit 10 to Rt. 287 North to Rt. 1 South exit, (see 287 North above).

From Brooklyn / Staten Island

Verazzano Bridge to Outerbridge Crossing to 440 west to 287 North to Rt. 1 South exit (see 287 North above).
