The idea for Historical Guilds began in September 1993 when Bishop Hughes established the Diocesan Historical Records Commission to guide parish historians.  In 1996 Msgr. Behl organized our group.  Since then we have been collecting historical data, pictures, memorabilia and taped interviews.  Many of our collections have been displayed during two Parish History Weekends in the CYO Hall.

With the help of many parishioner’s photographs, the product of seven years of collecting documents, sacramental records and photographs became the St. Francis 125th Anniversary Book, published in April 2003.  The hardcover, 120-page book contains more than 200 photographs and is still available for purchase from the rectory.

Charter members of  the Historical Guild include: Msgr. Richard Behl, Honorary Chair and Moderator;  Dr. Carmen Collins, Chair;  Rod Altz,  Mary Darmstad, Rosemarie Gazaleh, Marnie Jeney, Deacon Paul Licameli and Charles Welsh.  Our newest members are Jean Cronen and Father John Gloss.
