The ministry offers those who are suffering the death of a loved one the ability to start the process of healing in a confidential structured support group. The program consists of eight weekly sessions and includes guidance from trained Diocesan facilitators consisting of discussion and sharing, handouts and most importantly the time to begin or further their journey of grief. In addition, each facilitator and all participants bring with them their own life experiences in dealing with the death of a loved one. The program explores the stages of grief, the emotions involved and our ability to heal in both a physical and spiritual way. If you are struggling with your feelings, finding it difficult to cope and feel maybe you are a little overwhelmed, “Journey Through Grief” offers participants a small respite from the difficulty that death can bring. The program is offered twice a year in the Fall and Spring. The parish also offers an ongoing group after completing the initial sessions. Please feel free to contact the facilitators listed on the website for additional information on either program.
