🤎Franciscan Friar, Brother Gabriel Cortez captivated our students this morning with his🛹skateboarding skills sharing his message of faith with our students. He performed daring feats with his skateboard jumping over our teachers to show the importance of trust in our faith journeys.✝️ #SFCS

✝️Today students from PreK - 8th grade "Celebrated our Community" by assembling "Blessing Bags" full of toiletries, snack and personal care products donated from all our generous school families. Half of the bags were brought over to our Parish Pastoral Center to the Director of Social Concerns, Bidgie Williamson who delivered them to the Ozanam Shelter. The other half was dropped off by Security Guard Tony at the New Dover United Methodist Church where they will be packed up with lunches for the homeless and delivered to St. Joseph Social Service in Elizabeth. There they will distributed to communties in need. It was was such a wonderful day at SFCS to see how our charitable actions can help so many people in need.😃 #SFCS

✨As part of Dr. Macaluso’s “Wellness Program”, our middle school students set goals for themselves. The children learned that writing📝goals down helps to gain clarity, focus, accountability, motivation, and a sense of direction. The students can see how their daily choices connect to future success. Dr. Macaluso explained that not all goals are achieved, and that is okay; but setting goals help shape a positive mindset and encourage growth.🌟#SFCS

🖍️Last week, our Kindergartners learned all about Martin Luther King, what he did and why he was a hero. Together they read the story, “The Crayon Box”. The story is about a box of crayons that didn’t like each other because they were different colors. After learning to value each other’s unique qualities, the crayons in the box began to appreciate each other as they used their different colors to create a beautiful picture together.🎨👨🏽‍🎨🧑🏻‍🎨#SFCS

🏗️In science class, Mrs. Masset’s 2nd graders learned about the properties of a successful tower. As engineers, the students were tasked with building a tower at least 45cm tall and stable enough to not blow over in the wind. 🦺Our first grade classes attended a special safety presentation from St. Joseph’s High School students this week. Two of them were our very own SFCS alumni from the class of 2022.🥰The program centered around pedestrian safety. The children were reminded how to cross the street safely, what type of clothing helps drivers see them better and to always observe traffic signals. We look forward to their next visit to our school in February.🌟#SFCS
