Yesterday, the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi joined the Diocese of Metuchen and Catholics across the United States in consecrating our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as we prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country.
Together in prayer, we entrusted our nation, our leaders, our families, and our future to the loving care of Christ.
Following Mass, parishioners gathered in fellowship to celebrate this special occasion and our shared faith.

For the first time, the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi will host Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Level I Formation.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-inspired approach to faith formation that nurtures wonder, prayer, and a deep relationship with God in children ages 3–6. This 90+ hour foundational training is designed for adults who want to accompany young children in their life of faith through this contemplative method of catechesis.
🗓️ Part I: August 17–22 & 24, 2026

💲 $360 per person (Part I only)

Yesterday, our parish gathered for a Eucharistic Procession around the Cathedral grounds, publicly witnessing to our faith in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
Thank you to our Knights of Columbus, musicians, altar servers, clergy, and all who helped make this beautiful celebration possible.
