βThere is an awful lot of insecurity and nervousness and second guessing among good parents. Whether you are a parent or a grandparent, I'm going to give you a sense of standing strong against the culture no longer on your side. As faith filled men, weβre going to have to go against the culture to raise the kind of kids or grandkids that we want to raise. To make my point I use comedy because good comedy will leave the
audience saying, oh, okay, I can relate to that. It may be an exaggeration of a reality, but there is a lot of truth in comedy. So, I will use it to relate, then follow it up with the points I am trying to make to the guys.β

In my travels, I often see people who seem to be on the border line of losing hope. A child has lost the faith, maybe theyβve lost their job, maybe their spouse no longer looks them in the eye, or a spouse has left them, or maybe something else has gone wrong and theyβre just moping around. Itβs tough, itβs miserable.
Iβm going to talk about how we can hold onto hope in a world that wants to suck it away from us. How men can not only maintain hope but also dig very deep within themselves when there is a collapse. How the saints, Christ and men through the ages retained hope knowing that even on the toughest and darkest nights, God is always by your side, especially when we are suffering the most.
Hope is the weapon that sustains us when weβre struggling. As Saint Paul said, hope is the sure and steadfast anchor of the soul that never disappoints.β
